I’m impressed by Martha Boers, though. She uses way nicer dolls than usual (Asian ball-jointed dolls), hand-sews amazing outfits for them, and makes detailed props. No matter what her motivation actually is, I look at the dolls as a way to show off the outfits; and you know, it’s probably easier and faster to make doll clothes than it is to make clothes for people.
Boers takes really good photographs of her dolls – not only are they well-composed, she takes the dolls to breathtaking locations like Mount St. Helens and Yellowstone. She also puts together photo stories – mostly the dolls “walking” around pretty places.
