Artist profile: Deri – Historical dolls

I found Deriana while researching fashion history. She does a fair amount of research for her adorable dolls, too – she often includes links to her source material.

Deridolls is Deriana’s huge collection of hand-made dolls of figures from history, fiction, and pop culture. I have so many favorites that I decided to split them over two posts, so look for Pop Culture dolls tomorrow. They are all super cute!

If you want one – of course you do! – visit Deriana’s Livejournal for info.

Lady with an Ermine, after Leonardo da Vinci’s painting (the ermine looks on the bunny side, though!)
Judith Beheading Halofernes, after Caravaggio’s painting (the one I made fun of)
